Deep in the heart of Texas…
The stars at night, really are big and b…. who am I kidding. I never went outside to look. LOL.
Well, I just got done with a rockin’ week in Texas with my framily (friends who are sooo family!) Dakota Cassidy, Michele Bardsley, and Ter-bear. It was awesome! A week long slumber party at Casa de Cassidy (which is way cooler than a 4 star hotel and a lot better service!), staying up until 5 am everyday, sleeping until past noon, laughing our asses off when moments of genius would arrive around 4 am. LOL.
Why did I go? You ask.. Well, Dakota just released her newest and first Berkley Sensation novel, The Accidental Werewolf (go buy it, read it, live it! It totally kicks major ta-ta. Funny as hell!) Dakota made me want to aspire to Lavender on the color wheel of life with this hilarious romantic comedy.
The week started like this… I drove to Oklahoma (Oh. Kay. El. A. H. Oh. Em. A. Where the wind comes sweeping o’er the plain) to pick up Michele. Stayed in her lovely abode for the evening (it was a four and a half hour drive!). We were naughty, hit a casino after dinner, hehe. The pirates were kind to us though, thank the la-la of money, because none of the other machines gave a tinkers damn about our wallets. (This was Sunday).
The next day, after we slept most the afternoon away, we headed to Te-has. The reunion between D, T, M, and me was like friggin’ magic! I swear it was like we lived next door to each other and had been on the same PTA committees our entire lives. (This was Monday).
We stayed up every night, while we assured and reassured the very fabulous Dakota that she was not going to die of anxiety. We spent the days going to book stores and such so she could sign stock and be charming (which she totally was!). She bought the hottest pair of boots I’ve seen in a long time on one of these afternoons that if they’d been two sizes bigger, I’d have totally snuck into my suitcase before I left! She looked fab in them. The woman has legs I’d kill puppies for! (for all you PETA folk and pet lovers — I would NOT really kill puppies. Please don’t write me any hate mail. I’m like on the edge as it is.) (This was Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
The day of the signing came and Voila. Magic! We had a wonderful meal with the DFWtea ladies. It was so great to meet all them! Sara, Summer, Serinity, Sandy, and Gwen. You ladies were the bomb! The signing was a huge success! If you want to know more about it, Dakota was pretty damn succinct in her blog. And Ter posted pictures here. And it would not have went so well had it not been for the help of DC’s two kids and her dude. They so rocked. After we went to TGI Fridays with some of Dakota’s fans who like came from all over the country just for the book launch. How cool is that?? Yeah, that’s what I’m saying! (This was Friday).
The next day, well, let’s just say.. I stayed in the jammies until 7:00 pm when I packed and Michele and I got on the road. We were back at her place by 1:00 am (This was Saturday), and up all night, slept until after 1:00pm, then on the road home. I arrived at my construction zone (remodeling the bathroom currently) kissed the hubby and kiddle (although I think the dog and cat might have missed me more), lol, and sat down to veg out with many hours of DVR’d television. It was like realitypolooza. Survivor, American Idol, Bruno and Carrie Ann, Janice Dickenson Modeling Agency, Biggest Loser, The Celebrity Apprentice, Real World/ Road Rules Gauntlet, Make Me a Supermodel, blah, blah, blah, and so on. (This was Sunday to present). LOL.
I can’t wait to see the whole framily again in April for RT. Pittsburg here we come! (this is the only warning they will get). Then in May, we’ll be in Oklahoma for the launch party of Because Your Vampire Said So for Michele! If you haven’t read the Broken Heart series, you have no idea what you are missing. Michele’s books are funny, romantic, action packed, paranormal must haves! She brings a whole new twist to soccer mom’s and PTA.
Well, that’s it for now. (I know! Thank God, right?)
Hugs!

I had the best time evah. I wish we DID live on the same block. How great would that be? Well, we wouldn’t get anything done and Dakota would eventually lose her voice. All the same, we’d have a lot of fun. LOL. Can’t wait for RT!
BINGO, bitch!
